Hovie's Finale: The Making of Hovie Lister's Last Recording "Well boys, that's three down and nine to go. Charlie could we take a short break? I need to rest just a minute." These words spoken by Hovie Lister will always echo in my mind each time I hear this recording. I was honored to be here in a recording studio with the king and master showman of Gospel Music - a man I had admired since my early childhood. I once told my mother while watching Singing Time In Dixie that I wanted to be in gospel music one day. Never did I dream I would be in business with Hovie Lister, let alone produce his last recording. Not since the Masters V recordings in the early eighties has Hovie played on a studio recording. Defying death by seventeen days, he was determined. If you can imagine, some had him convinced he couldn't play anymore! Maybe they will listen to this recording of a man, who with one foot in glory trying to get a glimpse of what's over on the other side, and the other foot in a recording studio in Atlanta, Georgia, sealing his legacy with a recording that would send him out in a true Statesmen style. How well he did! In Hovie's words, "Great production!" nuff-said. Charlie Waller Featuring these timeless classics: |

Mosie Lister's Favorites This is the second recording of the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion Quartet. This was the last studio recording of the late Jack Toney, gospel music's "finest ever" lead singer. The songs were picked by Mosie Lister as his favorites, and he co-produced this recording with Charlie Waller.
